86th Annual BGCWF Christmas Party

Santa will arrive at the 86th Annual Boys & Girls Clubs of Wichita Falls Christmas Party on Thursday evening, December 18, 2014, at 6:30 p.m. at the Central Branch, Sixth and Broad.

The party will be open to the general public and admission is free.

All Boys & Girls Club members, ages 6 to 12 with current membership cards will be seated on the main floor and other youth guests and parents will be seated in the bleacher sections.

Buses will provide transportation for youth members from all club locations.

All Boys & Girls Clubs will be open for the Holidays, December 22, 23, 24,29,30,31 and Jan. 5. Program hours for the Central, Southeast, and Southwest Branches will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Northwest Branch will be open 11a.m. to 6 p.m. The Northeast and Rosewood Branches will be open from Noon to 6 p.m.

I started with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Wichita Falls in November of 2000. At the time I had not worked for a non-profit and the organization had no formal IT plan. During my time with the organization, I have learned a lot about the non-profit sector and created a formal plan and direction for the organization. I have been working to create new ways to keep the members engaged with the organization leveraging existing and in some cases technology under development all while keeping costs as low as possible. I enjoy working with all aspects of technology from hardware, software, programming, team building, training, professional networking, and systems engineering. I am not a specialist in any one discipline but focus on finding or building technologies to further the organization while keeping the larger picture in mind. To that end, I never see an IT system as static but ever evolving and always in need of improvement.
