Alivia is 11-year-old and her home club is the Southwest Branch.
Alivia is lifelong Church member. She attends on Wednesdays on Sundays. She participates in Children’s Church, Children’s Choir, Sunday School, she serves as an usher, and participates in Bible Drill. She demonstrates her prayer life by praying before her meals and before bed each night.
As a 6th grade student in the WFISD, Alivia tells us that her favorite subject is Social Studies! Alivia maintains A’s & B’s on her report cards and has won awards for A/B Honor Roll, Perfect Attendance, and Model Mustang! She also participates in the school choir. She tells us she believes school is important because, “it’s a safe place to learn and socialize with my friends.” When Alivia grows up, she tells us she wants to go to Prairie View A&M college and become an Architect.
Alivia is active in the community as a YMCA member, Parks & Rec activities, and Youth Opportunity Center. She plays volleyball and also helps deliver Meal on Wheels.
Alivia is in her first year of membership at the Southwest Clubhouse, and participates as a cheerleader. She also sang the 2024 National Anthem at the Toy Bowl with her friends. At the club she can be found participating in programs such as Arts & Crafts, Power Hour, Club Tech/Computers & Triple Play Challenges, Jr. Staff, & Kids Café helper, Smart Girls & Torch Club. She also attended Camp Graham Ball in the summer months. Alivia is a Peer Leader in her club and helps mentor the younger members. She states that she loves going to the Boys & Girls Club because, “It is a safe place where I get to socialize, have fun with my friends, and play games like volleyball and basketball.”
Southwest Director, Stacie O’Donley, expresses that she was chosen for this honor because, “Alivia is a standout youth! She is respectful, caring, and trustworthy. She is always willing and wanting to help others in need. She helps mentor and guide her fellow youth. Alivia uses her faith to guide her and help her make positive decisions.”
