The Boys & Girls Clubs of Wichita Falls endeavors to inspire children throughout North Texas to realize their greatest potential. Through the instillation of a sense of belonging, usefulness, influence, and competence, the BGCWF offers programming for youth, ages 6 – 18 years old (must still be in high school if they are 18). We offer programming that promotes academic success, heathy lifestyles, and discovering one’s leadership abilities.
We focus on academic success through the Power Hour Homework Club, Sylvan Learning, and other academic programming such as Money Matters & Job Readiness programs. Healthy Lifestyles are promoted through local & national programs, as well as through integral partnerships such as ones with the WF Health Department and our Play Well Program, and the Kidz Kafe Program, provided by the WF Area Food Bank and The Kitchen. Learning how to identify one’s leadership abilities is a key component of the BGC experience. Groups such as our Torch Clubs, Keystone Clubs, Jr. Staff Programs, as well as our organized sports leagues, help our youth to tap into their greatest abilities and work as a team to accomplish great things.
Helping youth become responsible caring citizens and acquire skills for participating in the democratic process is the main thrust of these programs. They also develop leadership skills and provide opportunities for planning, decision-making, contributing to the Club and community, and celebrating our national heritage.
These programs help youth create aspirations for the future, providing opportunities for career exploration and educational enhancement.
These initiatives help youth achieve and maintain healthy, active lifestyles.
These initiatives help young people enhance self-expression and creativity, develop multicultural appreciation, provide exposure to and develop skills in crafts and visual, performing and literary arts.
These programs help develop fitness, a positive use of leisure time, reduction of stress, appreciation for the environment, and social and interpersonal skills.
It is our goal to not only support youth in their academic endeavors, but to follow them through their journeys into furthering their education. With the help of key partnerships within the community, dozens of former BGCWF Club Kids receive college scholarships each year to help further their educational goals.

The BGCWF has its own camping facility, established in 1962, which consists of 147 acres. It is located near Lake Kickapoo in Archer County, Texas. At present, there are five brick cabins that house the campers. There is also an Olympic size swimming pool and large dining hall, a covered playground, outdoor pavilion and 2-acre lake with floating dock.
During the summer months, staff and youth attend four weeks of day-camp activities, as well as two weeks of gender-specific overnight camping experiences. We aim to provide an out-doors, enriching experience for our membership; helping to create a love for nature, and a much-needed reprieve from technology and the business of life.
Camp site rentals are available for family reunions, retreats, weddings and various other activities. The 5 cabins have air conditioning and heating and will accommodate approximately 16 people each. Recent renovations include updated bathrooms, a covered play area and renovated dining hall with air conditioning.

Ka’lecia Peterson is won the title of the 2025 City-wide Youth of the Year in January of 2025 when she competed against fellow competitors, Abigail Childers (Central Club), Rachel Spadin (Southeast Club), and Caroline Wynne (Southwest Club). While all four nominees are excellent candidates, Ka’lecia stood out above the rest.
Ka’lecia started her membership, originating at the Northwest Clubhouse, in 2015. Throughout her BGC years, she ahs participated in numerous activities including, but not limited to, the MLK Breakfast, together we Make a Difference Day activities, she is a Jr. Staff member, and she serves as a peer counselor. Ka’lecia has earned the honor of City-Wide Youth of the Month, she has placed in the Fine Arts Competition, and has served as a honoree at the Optimist Club’s 95% Youth Honoree banquet. She is a Sophomore in high school and is a dedicated JV Cheer Captain, as well as a track team scholar. Ka’lecia maintains a 3.62 GPA and would like to one day attend the TX Southern University to get her degree in Social Work. She describes herself as a mentor and as a self-motivator. Ka’lecia displays these traits in her clubhouse every time she is there.
Help us to wish Ka’lecia good luck as she prepares for the State-Wide Competition in Austin, Texas this March! While there, she will be competing against 25 other youth for the title of State Youth of the Year!
Demauri is 7-year-old and he attends the Northwest Branch of the Clubs.
Demauri attends Church on Sundays and is involved in Children’s Church Services. He also like to pray before he eats and at bedtime.
As a 1st grade student, Demauri works hard to be a good student. He makes straight A’s on his report cards and says that his favorite subject is Math! Demauri enjoys being a leader at school in which he has been awarded for being kind and helping others. He also helps his teacher by being a line leader. He tells us that when he grows up, he would like to be a Police Officer, and he believes school is important because, “it helps you get good grades.”
Demauri is in his first year of Boys & Girls Club membership, and he is already very active in his participation within the club programming at the Northwest Clubhouse. He can be found in the building participating in Arts & Crafts, Power Hour, Triple Play Challenges, Club Tech (Computers), Swimming, and STEM. Demauri states that he enjoys going to the Boys & Girls Club because “it’s fun to come here and go to the Learning Center to play with my friends.”
Mr. Rick Taylor, Director, states that, “Demauri is a quiet and kind young Pee Wee that is quickly coming into his own. He makes friends very easily and always follows all the rules.”

Alivia is 11-year-old and her home club is the Southwest Branch.
Alivia is lifelong Church member. She attends on Wednesdays on Sundays. She participates in Children’s Church, Children’s Choir, Sunday School, she serves as an usher, and participates in Bible Drill. She demonstrates her prayer life by praying before her meals and before bed each night.
As a 6th grade student in the WFISD, Alivia tells us that her favorite subject is Social Studies! Alivia maintains A’s & B’s on her report cards and has won awards for A/B Honor Roll, Perfect Attendance, and Model Mustang! She also participates in the school choir. She tells us she believes school is important because, “it’s a safe place to learn and socialize with my friends.” When Alivia grows up, she tells us she wants to go to Prairie View A&M college and become an Architect.
Alivia is active in the community as a YMCA member, Parks & Rec activities, and Youth Opportunity Center. She plays volleyball and also helps deliver Meal on Wheels.
Alivia is in her first year of membership at the Southwest Clubhouse, and participates as a cheerleader. She also sang the 2024 National Anthem at the Toy Bowl with her friends. At the club she can be found participating in programs such as Arts & Crafts, Power Hour, Club Tech/Computers & Triple Play Challenges, Jr. Staff, & Kids Café helper, Smart Girls & Torch Club. She also attended Camp Graham Ball in the summer months. Alivia is a Peer Leader in her club and helps mentor the younger members. She states that she loves going to the Boys & Girls Club because, “It is a safe place where I get to socialize, have fun with my friends, and play games like volleyball and basketball.”
Southwest Director, Stacie O’Donley, expresses that she was chosen for this honor because, “Alivia is a standout youth! She is respectful, caring, and trustworthy. She is always willing and wanting to help others in need. She helps mentor and guide her fellow youth. Alivia uses her faith to guide her and help her make positive decisions.”

Dixon is 13 years old and is a Southwest Club member.
Dixon has been an active Church member all of his life. He goes to Sunday School and participates in Children’s Church. Dixon prays before bed every night and before he eats. He spreads the gospel by talking with his friends about God.
Dixon is in the 7th grade and maintains A’s & B’s on his report card. His favorite subject is Athletics! He also was a participant on the school football & basketball teams. He has received awards for Perfect Attendance and can’t wait to earn more awards. He tells us that he believes school is important because, “It helps you to get your education and continue it in college so you can get a job you love.” He tells us that he would like to start his college career at MSU and get his degree and become a Welder.
Dixon displays his leadership abilities daily at the Southwest Branch where he has been a member for seven years! In the club building, he can be found participating in club activities such as Club Tech (Computers), Power Hour, Triple Play Challenges, Arts & Crafts, Healthy Habits, Kids Café Helper, Passport to Manhood, city-wide team events, and Reading Club. He also attended Camp Graham Ball this summer. Dixon tells us that he enjoys going to the Club because “it’s a great and safe place to meet my friends to play basketball.”
Club Director, Stacie O’Donley, tells us that Dixon was selected because, “Dixon has come a long way over the years. His spirit and kindness have shown through! He has improved his attitude and his overall maturity. He is sweet, caring, and like a big brother to our youth. I’m so proud to award him this honor, he definitely deserves it!”
